This series is only just starting but I am very excited to make progress with this body of work. hundreds of small pieces of ceramics come together to make a portrait of a stranger I've been getting to know. Some for years and some only for a moment.

This body of work is an exploration of the beauty present in every ordinary individual. It delves into the essence of human existence, capturing the intricate tapestry of each person's journey – from their triumphs and vulnerabilities to their moments of sorrow and joy. Through a profound process of understanding and connection with these individuals, I embark on creating ceramic installations of their portraits. Piece by piece, I carefully construct a representation that reveals both the visible and unseen aspects of their lives.

The negative space between the ceramic pieces becomes a metaphor, symbolizing the depth and complexity of humanity. It is through these interstitial spaces that the true essence of a person comes to light, allowing viewers to witness the often unseen, yet equally significant, facets of their being.

My intention is to inspire others to appreciate the extraordinary nature of seemingly ordinary individuals, celebrating the unique stories they carry within.
